ultaviolet730: (Party Time made by cici_chan)

I meant to do that - I'm only three days off!  But look:

That's much more important!

Let's hope this day ends in a party:

Go here for your own cool "I voted" sticker: [livejournal.com profile] lunaris1013

And me without a single Zoolander icon wtf :(

Is it sad that I had no idea this came from Zoolander? And I've seen Zoolander. And laughed, heartily, at Zoolander.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I am thinking I never fully explained that whole Annie Proulx/BBM fanfic/London mention of your story. I assume you googled and discovered the history on your own. I still think it was cool that you were complimented :)

WHOOOObama!!! Either way, I'm getting tore UP and coming into work tomorrow with a hangover.

I am so anxious, it's ridiculous. Not getting any work done. I'm all jittery and hyper.

Oh, well, I can do work tonight when I'm trying not to tear my hair out waiting for all those freaking swing states to come in.

NaNoWriMo reminds me of a sentence a University prof said to me long ago, about the workload in his class: "There are no stops down the slide of this particular razor blade".

That said, I'm 1000 words ahead. Currently.

I'll be watching TV most of the night though. C'mon Obama!

Ouch! Thanks for that image.

Are you writing something new? Or did you cheat and go back to an old story??? :)

There's no way I'll be able to blog every day, but hell, I should be able to come up with a few things to say!

And yes, come on, come on!

Yeah, it sticks with you, doesn't it?

It's something old. I'm not counting from the beginning, though -- just what I've done since the beginning of November.

I dunno, I find the representation of Hilary to be hardly realistic. The Obamas are adorable, though.

Date: 2008-11-04 08:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ultraviolet730.livejournal.com
Really? It looks like Hillary to me. And I'm a Hillary girl!

It's all meant in good fun and good will, I swear!

From: [identity profile] mantaraggio.livejournal.com
Hee, well, what I meant is that I hardly believe Hillary looks that happy right now. I imagine she's sulking in a dark room in a mansion right now. I'm envisioning she's in a study with a big oak desk and one of those spinning highbacked chairs and she's stroking a cat in her lap and mumbling "Next time, my pretty, next time." And Bill is knocking on the door, all "C'mon honey, you've been in there since the primaries, you can't plot revenge and ruination forever."

And I meant that all in good fun, too! Really.

Clearly you are *not* a Hilary girl.

Boy oh boy am I nervous about this whole election business!

Date: 2008-11-04 09:25 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ultraviolet730.livejournal.com
So so nervous. But excited, too. Have you read any of these stirring "I voted" accounts, from people with recent generations of slaves in their family. Or old folks who waited their whole lives to vote for a black candidate for president. I get all weepy!

From: [identity profile] ultraviolet730.livejournal.com
I get it! You're a Hillary Hater. Get off of my lawn! Young whippersnapper.

Hee. I really did laugh out loud at the image of Bill gently trying to lure her out.

Honestly, though, I think Hillary went above and beyond the call for Obama. She really impressed me in defeat.

I voted and I'm drinking a lot of wine tonight. Because in 2004 I was stone cold sober the whole time and it was agony.

Seriously, what were we thinking? I remember being semi-confident Kerry would win, and as I see now, he wasn't leading in any of the polls before the election. Maybe one. But I had hope. Then we got all that early good news.

Ugh. I just want it to be over. And for Obama to win.

Maybe a stop at the liquor store on the way home is in order.

From: [identity profile] theholyinnocent.livejournal.com
It was a pretty major pollster that had Kerry ahead, wasn't it? Zogby, maybe? That had me convinced Kerry would pull it off somehow. No wonder the next morning I was curled in a fetal position and crying.

So yes, let's be prepared this time. To the liquor store!

Popped open n old bottle of Veuve, saved from the BBM Oscar loss. It was even sweeter :)

Woo hoo!

From: [identity profile] theholyinnocent.livejournal.com
I love that you just have a bottle of Veuve on hand...such restraint. I would have used any reason to drink it pronto. ("It's Dusty Springfield's birthday!")

It's a great day! Except for the Prop 8 shit.

Hi Luci! You'll be waking up to good news, thank heavens!

Everyone's feeling happy :)

Never too late. I'd like you to do it.

Besides, who says the thirty days has to start on the first of a month? Could be any consecutive thirty days.

I've done four, not too hard yet. Probably around day 15 I'll be running out of ideas. :)

Carry on! Love the party in the car.

You're always so encouraging. We'll see how far I get :)

It was a good day.

I'm surprised you didn't manage to stick Jakey in there somewhere!
(yeah, I looked...)

Love the manip... I think we're ALL feeling it this time.

*back to the couch and TV*

No, no - where is my mea culpa icon? I've been so bad, but I've been thinking of you, first through the hurricane and then through your ribs! I hope you're doing well.

It was a good night for the couch and the TV and the Obama jeep!

We didn't suffer any damage from the storm, but other parts of LA are still feeling the effects- we don't get the storm surge and it doesn't flood here-- which is one of the reasons I live in this part of NO.

Ribs? ARRRGGGHHH. I can't tell if they're getting better, or if I'm just getting used to the pain. It's been a month, and the doc said it takes about six weeks. I just ran out of painkillers, so I'm stuck with Motrin.
M & Ms would probably be more effective!

Yep... good night, even with the pain!

You know, if they passed that .gif out instead of stickers after you vote, I think even *more* people would show up.

My plan of action for tonight is to basically turn on the Playstation and zone out until around 10:30. I just don't have enough alcohol to deal with watching all the coverage tonight!

Oh, and it's never too late to start that whole NaBloPoMoSodoku thingie. I still haven't started.. and I was totally planning to cheat this year!

Date: 2008-11-05 07:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ultraviolet730.livejournal.com
We don't even get a sticker!

Hope you tuned in to see the victory. What a wonderful night. Finally!

And yay for cheating on the NaBloShow. I'll join you.

Hey, you must be jubilant! I know I am. And he's getting his little girls a puppy!!

From: [identity profile] ultraviolet730.livejournal.com
I didn't have a puppy icon, but I should get one!

I'm jubilant and slightly tipsy, making typing even harder than it normally is for me!

Off to bed, happy and hopeful. Yay, Obama!
